'I've got a book recommendation for that', is probably one of my most used phrases...

The Mountain Is You - Brianna Wiest
This one's for my anxious, over-thinker Bosses who need to get outta their own way.
Super easy read, you'll be finished it and inspired AF in a day or two.
We Should All Be Millionaires - Rodgers Rachel
If you're a woman and you wanna make money, read this book like YESTERDAY. Rachel is just incredible, and gives you heaps of confidence to go make that moneyyyyyy!
Another super easy read, great to dip your toe into money mindset books.
Fun fact: I read this on my first ever upper class flight to LA and almost cried at how true it all is! It was straight off of my vision board.
Set Boundaries, Find Peace - Nedra Glover Tawwab
If you're not following Nedra on IG, get on it!
She's the queen of boundaries, and puts everything into language and concepts that are super easy to understand.
Have you ever come close to reaching a goal you've been dreaming of, only to seriously self-sabotage at the last minute, then wonder WTF you did it?!
Well, this book cover's what Gay refers to as, 'upper limit problems'. Super interesting!
Everything is Figureoutable - Marie Forleo
This is a phrase that I've had in my head, ever since I listened to the audiobook.
Shift into solution-based thinking, and start going after the life you want with the lovely Marie Forleo and this brilliant book.
Want to get out of the procrastination rut? Or is it time to give yourself a bit more structure?
This is a personal development book rather than specifically about business, but it's another game-changer which can impact all aspects of your life.
You Are a Badass - Jen Sincero
The perfect starting place if you want to explore positive psychology, a little bit of law of attraction and feel like your bestie is giving you a great big kick up the bum.
This is a really easy read, Jen Sincero is the big business sister you always wanted.
How to Own the Room - Viv Groskop
This one's for you if you wanna get into speaking, educating, or any other space where you'll be sharing ideas, expertise and winning people over.
Witty, sharp and super inspirational.
The Chimp Paradox - Professor Steve Peters
My all-time favourite!
Learn the art of responding, rather than reacting with this super easy to read and life-changing book from Prof. Steve Peters.
Also perfect if you struggle with overthinking, anxiety and stress or generally feel like your brain gets the better of you!
The 12 Week Year - Brian P. Moran & Michael Lennington
This was recommended to me by my coach and I've not stopped raving about it since!
The ultimate goal-setting read, which will teach you how to keep momentum and smash those long-term goals in weeks rather than years.
Oversubscribed - Daniel Priestley
Daniel Priestley knows how to create a business buzz!
In Oversubscribed, he'll show you how to have clients queueing around the block and falling over themselves to book in with you. A great business book to jump in with.
This is Marketing - Seth Godin
Probably my favourite book about marketing, Seth Godin's, 'This Is Marketing' is perfect for any Boss wanting to hone their marketing skills and learn how to magnetise the perfect Rockstar Clients.
The 4-Hour Work Week - Timothy Ferriss
Warning, this book will make you want to move to a tropical island with nothing but your laptop and a cocktail in hand!
It's a long book, but totally worth it if you're interested in automation, systematisation and scale (as well as working out how you could run a salon from the other side of the world)
The E-Myth Revisited - Michael E. Gerber
Another great book about scale, which will give you a great understanding of where you could take your hair or beauty business over the long term.
Profit First - Mike Michalowicz
This is more suited to a business with employees, as Mike Michalowicz teaches his brilliant system of allocating your money into 'pots' to maximise profits.
Love him or loathe him, Gary Vee knows how to turn a passion into a wildly successful business.
Be warned, he's a bit sweary so this maybe isn't for the feint-hearted! A great book for any Boss who's feeling stuck in a rut, or for those right at the start of their careers.
Crushing It! - Gary Vaynerchuk
Gary Vee's follow up, 'Crushing It' really zones in on building a personal brand. This is perfect for our industry where we so are often are our business.
Again, it's sweary and packs a punch, but if that's your vibe then I think you'll love this!
Black Box Thinking - Matthew Syed
Learn how to reframe failure with this thought-provoking read from Matthew Syed.
Another book for your self-development shelf that'll have you changing the way you see failure and success, forever.
Ego is the Enemy - Ryan Holiday
This was a perfect follow up to The Chimp Paradox, for Bosses with an interest in psychology and improving inter-personal relationships.
I thought I knew what ego was, but I was pleasantly surprised with this gem from the brilliant Ryan Holiday.
The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective People - Stephen R. Covey
A book the same age as me, and there's a reason it's stuck around as a personal development classic! (I've added the link for the 30 year anniversary revised version)
This can help get the best out of your relationships with your clients, your team, your friends and family. Personal growth is locked between these pages.
